Privacy policy

What this website collects, why I collect it, where it is kept, and how to get it changed or removed.

Who this covers

This policy covers www.tonycarboon.com.au and any personal information you give me through it. I am Tony Carboon, a wealth specialist with Geonet Property & Finance Group, based in Queensland, and I am engaged by Geonet to represent its projects. I handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988.

What I collect

Only what you type into a form. There are two.

  • The enquiry form. Your name, your email address, your phone number if you choose to give it, whether you are an investor or an adviser, and whatever you write in the message field.
  • The guide form. Your email address, and nothing else.

If you email me directly, I have whatever you put in the email.

What I do with it

I use your details to answer you, to send you anything you asked for, and to follow up about it. If you download the guide, that includes an email from me about the guide and, where it seems useful, one follow up. If you would rather I did not, reply and say so and I will stop.

I do not sell your information. I do not add you to a bulk mailing list or a newsletter, because I do not run one.

Who else sees it

Where answering you means involving Geonet Property & Finance Group, for example when you are asking about a specific project, I may pass your enquiry to the relevant person there. My licensee may also have a right to review records of client contact as part of its supervision obligations. Beyond that, nobody, unless the law requires it.

Where it is stored, including overseas

This website is hosted on Netlify, and form submissions are stored on Netlify's systems, which are located in the United States. That means your information is disclosed to an overseas recipient. Email I receive is held in my Geonet mailbox. If either of those matters to you, phone or email me instead of using a form and I will keep the record locally.

Cookies and tracking

There are none. This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, uses no advertising or tracking pixels, and loads no fonts, scripts or images from anyone else's servers. Nothing on it follows you anywhere. The only third party involved in an ordinary visit is Netlify, which keeps standard server logs including IP addresses, as any web host does.

How long I keep it

Enquiries are kept while there is a live conversation and afterwards for as long as my licensee's record keeping obligations require. Guide downloads are kept until you ask me to remove them. If you ask me to delete your details and I am not required to keep them, I will.

Seeing, correcting or deleting your information

Email me at tony@geonet.properties and ask. I will tell you what I hold, correct anything that is wrong, and delete what I am able to delete. There is no charge for this and you do not need to give a reason.

If you are not happy with how I have handled it

Tell me first, at the address above, and I will look into it and come back to you. If you are still not satisfied you can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

If this changes, the new version goes here with a new date at the top. The version you agreed to is the one that was published when you submitted the form.

This page describes how I handle personal information. It is not financial advice. Information elsewhere on this site is general in nature and does not take into account your objectives, financial situation or needs.
